Lapis Notes has two public app surfaces:

• Web / PWA: open app.lapis.md in a modern browser. You can install it from the browser menu for an app-like window.
• Desktop: use the Electron desktop app when you want direct filesystem vault access.

The documentation site stays at lapis.md. The app shell stays at app.lapis.md.

Choose a runtime

Use the web app when you want the fastest start, browser-local storage, and offline use after the first load. Use the desktop app when you want to open a normal folder from your filesystem as a vault.

After opening the app

1. Create a new vault or open an existing folder.
2. Enable the core plugins you want from settings.
3. Create a note and confirm it appears in the file explorer.
