Offline use

Lapis Notes is local-first. Once the app shell and vault are available, writing and reading notes should not depend on a network connection.

Web app

The browser app stores a browser vault locally. After the first load, the PWA can continue to work offline if the browser has kept the app assets and vault storage.

Desktop app

The desktop app opens local folders directly. Your notes remain available as long as the folder is available.

Remote sync, package downloads, and network-backed features still require a connection.
